Well said. But we must, must, must add to the dialogue how and why our ancestors experienced the onslaught of slavery. Did they not see it coming? Surely it was more than tribal and religious wars. As a Black woman studying and embracing Buddhism, and as I am a descendant of Mother Africa, I suggest we ask the question, What were our ancestors doing prior to the onslaught of slavery? When we reflect on the answer to that question, I truly feel we can heal ourselves and generations to come. Peace, blessings, and understanding.
